Hello. My name is Pan the chimpanzee. You are probably wondering why that would be my name, and it is actually based on my scientific name, pan troglodytes spp. Me and my brothers can be found all around the world, but everyday we are less, being an endangered specie. This status is concerning people all around the world because we are the human last common ancestors. Also, being their closest relatives, we share an estimated 98% gene pathology with the human race. We also look very alike, we are covered in hair but our face, feet, and hands are bare. We are located all around the world but we usually prefer the Congo and other African forests. It is ironic that humans are concerned about our constant disappearance since they are the ones that cause the daily threats we face. Being mammals, marsupials, we give birth to our offsprings, through meiosis and carry our cubs since birth, instead of having them through eggs like other species. Our population varies from 150,000 to 250,000 individuals but it is constantly decreasing every day. The loss of each individual means the loss of biological heritage to humans. Many human supportive companies are fighting for our survival and the survival of our species.
